Certified Canine Massage Practitioner

As far back as I can remember, I have had a unique connection with animals.

Dogs, however, were my true passion (followed closely by horses).  My family moved often; a good share of the time living in apartments.  We were never in one place long enough to have a permanent pet of my own.  So naturally I did the next best thing.  I "adopted" whatever pet a current friend had while managing to find a steady flow of injured animals and those that needed to be "rescued".  As I recall, this resulted in a steady stream of dogs, cats, birds, an occasional rabbit, one chipmunk and a very feisty raccoon.  By the time I was in high school and college, I was volunteering at shelters, as a stable hand and showing horses.  During that time, I had the privilege to be part of a group teaching disadvantaged kids to ride and work with horses.  Much of this program dealt with perfecting the art of mucking stalls, cleaning hooves and maintaining equipment.

After high school I attended college and began training for a career in human Physical Therapy, with a concentration in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology.  Plans changed and I ended up working for the Department of Defense and again traveling, this time as a spouse and federal employee.  I indulged my love for therapy and animals, constantly finding opportunities working with friend's pets and volunteering with the various base veterinarian clinics wherever we were stationed.

Currently I use my Reiki and massage skills as a volunteer with the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas.

With encouragement from friends, Canine Pawsitive Touch was created and I finally turned my passion for animals into a new career.  I received my certification as a Canine Massage Practitioner from Dr. C. Sue Furman, PhD of Holistic Touch Therapy.  Reiki Master Ken Godey shared his gift of Reiki and through his teaching I attained Level III/Reiki Master.  Currently I study with Sandra Larson, Animal Communicator and Intuitive Coach, having completed her Level II Animal Communicator training.  I look to her for ongoing guidance through her ongoing workshops and galleries.
